Your signature says that you are using an AirDog 150, are you returning both the factory return and AirDog return to the basket?

No running both return lines would be the correct way to do it. This prevents the AirDog from leaving the basket dry. As Loco Offroad said fuel frothing could be a concern, but it certainly sounds like your sender is inaccurate.
