I swapped out some 08 headlights into my 06 and they have an extra amber bulb that was in the lower amber bar of light. Mine were both burnt out i guess because they never came on. Are they on all the time with lights or when? Thinking about using them for an add on running light.

Yep, they come on when either the parking lights or headlights are turned on.
