Another new guy here, getting ready to buy a 2006 slt long bed with a manual 6 speed and 5.9. I was wondering if this truck will have any problems with a gooseneck load of 14,000. 10,000 on the trailer and 4000 trailer weight? This is my first diesel and tow 2 times a month approx 400 miles round trip. load will be hay. Thanks for your input, gshark.

Just did 1800 mile round trip with 15,00lbs, not a problem. Highest EGT was 1200* at 30 psi boost when going across the Smokies. Cruz set at 70 90% of the trip, 11.4 mpg average (hand calculated). Mine is an auto but it those numbers might give you some ideas of where you would be at.

Cody:lol3:

that why I am getting this truck. I haul 8000 lb load of hay on a 1800 lb trailer with a 03 1500 dodge with 245000 on it. I have a 06 gooseneck that when my cousin and I were in together he had the truck and I had the trailer, after we stopped working together I did not have the truck. I should be able to save some trips if I time it right, with the old set up 1 customer 1 load, I should be able to do 2 now on 1 trip. thanks for the input guys!!!! gshark
