Ok, rumor has it that Bullydog's scarry larry was made specifically for an 05 auto and is getting an extra 60hp over other year model trucks with the same tune. What I would like to see is some dyno testing comparing this tune against the smarty tnt/r and ppe's hot+2 programmer. Does anyone have any testing under their belt comparing these? If not, I'll have my truck in the houston area within the next month and we can use it as the test vehicle if someone will bring a bullydog triple dog (I already have the scarry larry tune) and someone bring a ppe programmer and we'll get all the info we need even if it takes all day.

If it was just one person I would agree with you but this has been discussed by different people on numerous occasions. Either way I want to find out once and for all.

it doesnt matter if its an 04.5 it will not work the same as on an 05. i can say from experience that imo a smarty or ppe can not touch this tune on my truck hands down if you have an 05 get a bully dog with scarry larry! i put down 583.6 and 1147 torque with whats in my sig and with a little more tuning im pretty sure the truck has 600 in it and thats with stock stix and cp3. i just know i would put my truck against any other similer modded truck running a smarty or ppe and see what they got!

I have a buddy with an 05 and crazy larry and his truck is crazy fast. Has 37's on it and still one of the fastest trucks at the track. I have no clue what his numbers are though.

All of the performance trucks running around that I see with don't really have a difference from these programs, except for the 2005 models. Don't know why, but it just does --- kinda like trying to figure out how big the universe is. It just is.

because crazy larry was wrote as a universal tune that would work about the same on all ecm's from 03-07. scarry larry however was written for an 05 ecm only the fueling curves and every little thing are made to work with that ecm which is different from the 03-04.5 trucks. thats why you see the power gain you do out of an 05 with that tune

Well this raises another question, what is the difference between the ECMs in the '05 and '06? I have never been able to find an answer to that one.

Maybe Buddy Kunz will chime in on this. He is the one that writes the programs for BullyDog and is a member of this forum

I'm interested in hearing more on this topic too, I own both a Smarty s-06 and a Bully Dog Tripple Dog tuner. However I don't have Scary Larry loaded on mine.

Does anybody know where the Scary Larry is avaliable to download at?

from what i have heard if you have an 06 its a toss up between scarry larry and a smarty. some 06's like one over the other and thats about all i know. Oh but scarry larry will give more to the 05 then the 06
