I am trying to hookup a 2005 truck to a newer 2007 bed tailight. There are five wires.

2005 truck Yellow = Yellow 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Green = Green 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Teal = Teal 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Black with green stripe = white green stripe 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Black with green stripe = solid black 2007 bed tailights

Is this right? If so I have reverse lights but no parking, signal, and brake.

Any help would be appreciated. And BTW I am color blind.

UPDATE---UPDATE----

I can see why this post is not getting any response. NOBODY KNOWS!! Cause they are 99% of the time plug and play with nice connectors that are fol proof.

I do not have this luxury. I bought the bed with the connectors chopped off. The welding bed I had on it I had to chop cause the guy had LED lights with special conectors. So here is my update.

2005 truck Yellow = Yellow 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Green = Green 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Teal = Teal 2007 bed tailights

2005 truck Black with green stripe = white green stripe 2007 bed tailights
2005 truck Black with green stripe = solid black 2007 bed tailights
I hooked up all four of these together and I have tailights, reverse, parking, blinker, BUT NO BRAKE LIGHTS

So I am closer and need to trouble shoot the brake lights.

Wow I think that is something I can do now. I just don't have any pins. But I think that is just stating that the pin 1 are the tailights.

So when I hooked up the four wires together and got reverse, parking, blinkers this is wrong?

If the black is ground do I need to tie it into one of them or all of them?

This is a fun project for me and I am going to feel really good when I get this done. I and going down to buy a really nice crimper today and then put that heat shield wraps around each conector that I butt together. It is gonna look real good when I am done.

since its seperate connectors, you'd have to give each one of those a ground. The pin number is jsut for your reference. On the 07 lights, the brake lights are also the turn signals. best bet might be to use the 4 pin tow connector for the turn/brake lights.

Do you still have the 05 lights from the bed? are you set on using the bubble style tail light? if not, it might be easiest to take your old taillights or get a set of 03-06 taillights and just plug them in. They will mount in the same holes as the 07 lights

I really like the bubble tailights. I never had the original 05 lights. I had to sell a welding bed off the back of this truck and I bought an 07 black bed from a junkyard with the 07 lights. I did not know the tailights changed but I love them, lol.

The welding bed that I sold came with upgraded LED lights I had to chop off and give as part of the sale of the welding bed. So I must make this work.

I emailed your info to my Dad and he will be able to explain to me over the phone hopefully. I am going to have to take this bed off several times in the future and was worried about not having the stock easy connector but I can always unplug the socket with an easy quarter turn and release the bed from the frame that way.

If you have the 4 pin trailer tow connector it will be easiest, otherwise I can draw up a relay diagram for him to make it work as well

My dad says the four pin may work but at the same time he says we have five wires.

Six pins on diagram only five used.

Double up the ground and double up the backup lights.

Really we only got four wires.

Pin 3 and pin 6 are the same.

Correct?

you'd need to get the reverse lights from the current harness. The tail lights and ground could come from either that same harness or the 4 pin connector. The only thing you'd be using the 4 pin connector for is the brake/turn signals, which are the same for the 07+ lights. on the 03-06 lights, they were seperate bulbs for brake and turn.

I just bought a light tester and found out it doesn't work. I was hoping to buy this and learn how to use it. I was told to hook the clamp on the negative battery side and probe the positive. Nothing happened. Back to the store.

I got it all together. I wil post what wires go to what colors but....I have one issue still.

Everything works by itself. Brakes, turn, parking, reverse.

When I push my brakes with my turn signals on. It cancels my turn signals.

Apparently I haveone extra wire hooked up to my brakes light. When I solve this problem

I will post the color matching just incase someone else is in this scenario.

Well, I have it all wiretied right now.

As far as the colors go I wil have to get someone over here to tell me the colors of the wires. I can also take pictures of it also. I will do that today and post it up.

Nope. Not yet. Saving about 2500.00 for the ring job.

My buddy is doing the ring job for 1000.00 and I just want some extra for the wiring and other possible stuff, injectors maybe, ect....
