Got an 05 2500 that I don't know the history of, and it will not power up the instrument cluster with the key on. The door ajar light works, and the odometer lights up, but with the key in the on or crank position, nothing happens.

There is also no power to the overhead console and the electric 4x4 switch, all of which draw power from fuse 28. Neither side of fuse 28 has power with the key on. Backfeeding power to fuse 28 with the key on makes the instrument cluster light up and start working.

Any ideas on where to look next?

Thanks for any help.

Fuse 20 feeds into that section of the ign. switch.
located in TIPM

if 20 is ok it's the wiring from the TIPM to the ign. sw. or the wiring from the ign sw. to F28 or that section of the ign. sw. is Ts^U

pays to DL the service manual for these online. complex bug ridden cheap components electrical system that drives many crazy. the best engine electrical tech hate working on these
