there is no set number. with a stock truck i wouldnt go anything over 100hp, and some people will thats even over kill. the problem isnt the clutch its the fact that without adding more fuel/air the benefits of larger sticks would be lost.

Is you r truck an 04 or 04.5? Check out the build date on your truck to find out for sure. Before jan 04 then it's an 04, jan 04 and later is a 04.5. Predators are cheap and a lot of 03-04 guys seem to like them, but they are not as popular on 04.5. For that yr most guys on here will recommend a smarty, though edge gets some good reviews. The big thing is you need to get gauges before you really do any mods. If you are not careful you will burn up a piston and have an expensive paper weight. Next a stock tranny will not hold up to more than a little extra HP. If you drive it nice, most don't, it can last a while, but if you enjoy mashing the skinny pedal say goodbye to your stock tranny. I went with a smarty sr because I plan on going UDC and being able to tune my truck myself.
