03 Tranny problem. Really starting to tweek me

So I have an 03 automatic with a bit of a problem. Under light and moderate throttle when the tranny is shifting between 1 and 2 there seems to be a lag and the engines seems to rev up before it engages 2. Almost like it is taking too long to engage into second.

All my problems started when I changed the tps sensor. When removing the tps module off the engine I was disconnecting the cables and the the kickdown cable end broke. I replaced it and adjusted it the best I could with the information I found. I test drove the truck and when I would give it mid to full throttle It would drove down into a lower gear and over rev the engine. I adjusted the cable again and that took care of the problem and now it is having the problem I am having now. I contacted ATS because that was where the tranny came from. It is their stage 4 tranny. The guy recommended that I change out the governor pressure solenoid and the transducer. I assumed the transducer is the sensor that reads the actual pressure. So I put in a new borg warner solenoid and a new mopar transducer. Same problem. I figured then that I would check the band adjustment. after readjusting the bands I took it for a test drive. Same problem. ATS said that I would have to take it to a tranny shop but they weren't sure they would warranty it. It would depend on what it is.

Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing this? The fixes were not in vain as the truck and tranny feel a lot better. I just need to fix this 1to 2 shifting problem and I am at the end of my rope on ideas. Any help would be much appreciated and I will try anything. I just don't want to take it to a shop. I don't trust them. I have been a mechanic for almost 20 years and fix all my vehicles myself. I just have very little knowledge on transmissions. Most of my knowledge is diesel and gas engines and electrical.
Thanks in advance

I haven't been inside a 48re yet but is it possible that you have a solenoid for 1 to 2nd shift acting up or one of the spoils in the vb is sticking.
I had the same problems and a new borg solenoid and transducer fixed it. Two weeks later i had the same problem. After a week of scratching my head it finally threw a code, two actually, 2121 2122. Today i found my tps was half unplugged. Given you've already changed the whole part i would guess your linkage is out of adjustment. Ive been told that the small adjustment teeth are picky and if its off one tooth it can act like crazy.
How loose was the band adjustment, if you smoked your band from being out of adjustment it's going to have a 1-2 flare shift as the band would be glazed/burned and couldn't stop to drum it's applied onto fast enough to give you a quick shift.

Isn't there a TPS relearn procedure?
I did the tps relearn procedure and checked the voltage when it tightened it down.

The band only tightened up maybe a quarter turn. It still has about 2 threads left outside the locknut. But the tranny maybe had three turns or less on the adjustment when it was installed at ATS.

What is the correct way to adjust the kickdown cable? I have read conflicting answers on how to do this. So I am not sure on how to do this properly and even know if it is correctly adjusted.

I am going to check the tps adjustment again and do a relearn.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate all the help and time.
I re did everything and checked everything yesterday. The last thing I did was check the tv cable adjustment again. I pulled on the cable and realized there was no pressure on it. I looked down at the transmission and saw the tv cable lever spring was missing. Put a spring on it let the tv cable auto adjust itself with the throttle closed and put clip in. I took it for a drive and put about 50 miles on it and it shifts perfect. All of this for a missing spring. Wish I would have caught it earlier. Thanks for all your suggestions. Re checking everything helped me find the problem.
Can you elaborate on how you Auto-Adjusted the TV cable? I'm haveing a problem with harsh shifting also and think this may be an issue and not sure how to properly adjust this cable. It has the spring on the transmission lever and the cable is a little loose where it is connected to the throttle lever now. (with throttle lever at ide) about 1/4 throttle is it starts to pull the cable. But the throttle bottoms out before the trans lever bottoms out. Is there a correct amount of travel on the transmission lever?
The spring on the tranny will automatically pull the lever all the way back. You can verify it if you want. Basically you have the tv cable hooked up and I just pulled the clip out and let the spring inside the cable housing tension itself and put the clip back in. I didn't move the throttle lever or the tranny lever. I figured there was a reason on why the cable has a built in tensioning spring in side the housing and I just let it adjust itself. I am not sure if it is the correct way that is in the service manual but it worked good for me. The spring inside the cable is different than the spring on the tranny lever. It removed all the slack on its own. Where as before it had slack.
Hope this helps. If you need me to elaborate more or have any questions just ask.
