It's very easy to spend a lot of cash on these trucks. Most likely needs work on front end etc. If u don't need the deisel and can't afford multiple 1000 dollar repair bills. I would keep ur jeep. Injectors could be close to needing replacement. Hard to say. But any deisel is not cheap to maintain

Sounds like a good used truck to me but still worth it. I got mine for around that same price and i had to do some work but not 1000 dollar repair bills. If your handy with a wrench there is a lot of tricks and tips that can be shared to make that truck perform and look better. But i would lose the stacks, get a nice 5'' turbo back exhaust and fill the hole in the box.

Sounds like it needs some body work, lose the stacks, and gonna need a new trans.

Other than that, if it's in good shape (especially the interior) it could be a good buy. You're looking at some work for sure (trans sounds like a pile, minimum about $3500 up to $7000 right off the bat).

I would agree with both points... when I bought my truck 2 years ago it had 102k o it and after 6-8 month I put over 1000 bucks in the ft end, im a mechanic and dont ever pay for labor. Parts on these pigs are NOT CHEAP! But I would NEVER go back to a gaser once you have power/torque of a Cummins you will know what I mean, I really dont need a diesel but the pros out way the cons. Routine maintenance goes a long way... but if its a auto start saving for some upgrades. Great engines, great axles, mediocre automatic transmissions. Just my opinion, what it comes down to is you and if you want to trade. Ever one has there own opinions on these trucks I love mine but its been kinda spendy, mine needed a bunch of body and suspension work but the engine, trans, and drive line have been good to me just maintenance stuff. I will say for the body rot mine hade the same cancer and it was $5, 500 to fix everything and paint the hole truck, the only way to fix that is cut it out and tig in new metal. But I now have a new driver side rocker new box sides and new tailgate. So what I'm saying is... Your call dude, the cancer would scare me the most, also my buddy has an 05 and just spent over 6k on a full billet trans but its worth it if you have the money night and day for the trans.

Yeah I bought mine and dumped roughly 900 in the front end right away.
Fender rust is coming, so that s something to look foward too.
if you dont need/absolutely love the diesel. The jeeps gonna be a cheaper, and still cool ride.
