Hey guys my tranny is going out on my truck and want to convert it just for the fun of it. Don’t want to argue about why.
I know there are posts all over on this topic but it’s hard to find more specific details for my truck.
I have a 2003 quad cab 4x4 short bed. I don’t have any parts yet but looking for a guide on what I need. Thanks fellas!

Basically, you’ll need a g56
clutch and flywheel with hydraulics
pedals
center dash pieces
Trans mount
Rear driveline shortened 2”
Change the input spline on your transfer case
A custom made tune
And a lot of beer

I have not listed minor items such as wiring and such

I think I’m going with the smarty for the ecm manual tune. Where could I find the input shaft replacement for the Tcase? Also will Nv5600 parts work with the G56?

The nv parts will not work on the g56. I found the input for the t-case online. I don’t remember specifically what site. It was quite easy to find and not very expensive. You can also get a t-case for a g56 from a junkyard or something.

Okay, it just sucks the closest junkyard is over an hour away but I’ll see what I can find and come up with a list and double check here if I’m missing anything. Thanks!
