sounds scarry i would check it out for sure!
I think that you might have a bad slave seals internally....that is my only guess on what can be the problem... How does your pedal feel when you press it?
It feels normal, but never thought about the slave cylinder. I,ll have to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the advice......Johnny:beer
It's the master cylinder on the firewall probably. If the slave cylinder let go, the fluid would be going into the bellhousing. At least it would on the six speed. When the master lets go, the fluid just sneaks past the seal back toward the reservoir and doesn't leak externally. If the slave lets go, the fluid leaks externally.
If the pressure feels the same on the peddle I would suspect the pilot bearing.Mine stuck at 120k
the resevor is full and we pulled the slave cyliner off and pushed the pedal. the travel is about 1 1/4". no leakes. the inspection cover is on top of the bell housing and no way to check or see the workings...... Put it ( the slave cyliner )back on the bell housing and it works fine. Thanks for you help and support. This sight is tops...........Thanks again, Johnny..........:thumbsup

Master Cyl has to do with brakes...
Slave Cyl has to do with the hydraulic system on the Trans. They are separate.

This is true.

Both the brakes, and the clutch have master cylinders and slave cylinders.

The brakes have a master cylinder on teh firewall, hydroboosted since '98, and the clutch has a master cylinder on teh firewall without any assist.

The brakes have slave cylinders on teh rear, if equipped with drums , 1998 to early 2001. The calipers are slave cylinders in a way, as that they have to do what the master makes them do.

The clutch has a slave cylinder also and pushes the clutch fork to disengage the clutch.

The can both fail the same way and can both be equally freightning, however, the clutch going out is usually not life threatening, LOL.

i would say pressure plate is shot, it happened to me on a forklift
I would say it's the hydro's.

Sometimes it goes out once, then is fine for a few days, then it doesn't work again.

Call South Bend Clutch..... :w:

Mine was full to,and it was my slave cylinder.I was backing up and hit a wood dock, because of mine.If i had my clutch pushed in sitting at a redlight,it would take off
