Master Cyl has to do with brakes...
Slave Cyl has to do with the hydraulic system on the Trans. They are separate.
This is true.
Both the brakes, and the clutch have master cylinders and slave cylinders.
The brakes have a master cylinder on teh firewall, hydroboosted since '98, and the clutch has a master cylinder on teh firewall without any assist.
The brakes have slave cylinders on teh rear, if equipped with drums , 1998 to early 2001. The calipers are slave cylinders in a way, as that they have to do what the master makes them do.
The clutch has a slave cylinder also and pushes the clutch fork to disengage the clutch.
The can both fail the same way and can both be equally freightning, however, the clutch going out is usually not life threatening, LOL.
