Fast guide to Smarty-JR software levels

The horsepower settings have a modified "Torque
management" ( TQM ). The throttle response is greatly
improved but is set to a safe limit. With "Safe" I mean safe for
your tranny and rest of the driveline.

* SW # 1 : 40 Hp increase
* SW # 2 : 70 Hp increase
* SW # 3 : 100 Hp increase

Tested on stock trucks on a Dyno.
Stock means just that. Stock! Even the air filters were stock...

The trucks were S T O C K, even the wastegate settings!
We checked the "baseline" ( the stock truck Hp at the rear
wheels ) twice in a day in order to be sure about our findings.
The above declared HP numbers are all rounded down to the
closest number.

No trace is left in the ECM!
I herby CLAIM that SmartyCR is the FIRST AND ONLY
downloader that does not erase any of the stored data in the
ECM. Smarty does NOT leave any electronic footprints in the
ECM or any other electronic module in the truck. Smarty does
NOT set ANY codes once the ECM is set back to stock. Smarty
does NOT need to have fuses pulled.

No matter what the competition claims , in one way or another
they're ALL detectable.
Smarty is NOT!

Yet, Smarty can not do one thing for you. Fix what others have
broken. Smarty can not restore a key on counter that another
downloader has erased . Smarty can not fix VIN# troubles
caused by other products. If your Check engine / ABS light is on
because another product has screwed your ECM, Smarty can
not fix it, the other guy HAS to...

ABS / Speedo recalibration
The tire height can be adjusted up to 44" in increments of 10
tenth of an inch in just a couple seconds. Of course, Smarty
needs to be VIN# locked to the truck in order to get into the ABS
adjustment section.

DTC Code reader
The name says it all.
You can read and erase codes. Codes are displayed also in
plain English. That's old news by now. Smarty S-03 was the first
one to provide that utility, others found the idea to be a good
one too.
( Smarty does erase ABS codes too but does not display them )

ECM update speed
Faster than anything else on the market! Again we've done our
homework on the protocol. Less than 5 minutes. Three times
faster than a Star-Scan diagnostic tool or competitor.

We have developed our own bootloader in order to not have to
pull fuses should an update become interrupted for any reason.
All you have to do is to turn the key off / key on Smarty does
everything else on it's own.

Updates
The CaTCHER softwares as they are today are only a starting
point. Expect major news in future. We’re for your feedback,
opinions, likes, dislikes...
We will make Smarty do what YOU want, TOGETHER.

Pros: 1.5 MPG increase, it was -7*F so probable could get better
Cons: Run on performance and driven hard with an auto transmission might be too much for the tranny.

Reads codes, adjust for tire size, 40, 70, 100 Hp settings.
Really wakes the truck up, throttle response is instantanous. Much more responsive than even a gas vehicle.
Lower EGT's even in the performance setting. Lowered cruiesing EGT's approximately 100-150 degrees. Have not towed with it yet.
Very smooth power delivery all the way through the rpm range.

I rated it a 9 only because there's always room for improvement no matter what the product. It's the most perfect 10 I have ever experienced over 9 years of diesel performance and I've used alot of different company products.

Pros: "custom tuning" within catcher settings TQ management and Timing Improvements
Cons: N/A

Have had 3 different power programmers on my truck and this is BY FAR the best. Most low end response change. Smoother power band through the gears. Smoke if you want it, and im sure i will have increased fuel mileage once i start keeping my foot from having too much fun with the skinny pedal

Pros: Easy to install/program, great instructions, great power.
Cons:

I first want to thank the guys at Wagner for a great product, delivered when they said it would, a breeze to set-up, great instructions, a very handy tool indead.
I have a box stock 2004 4x4 crew cab.
I first loaded SW2, TM2 (default), TQ2 (default), POD 99%.
Great results. Very low smoke, great high gear roll on, very smooth power delivery.
Off the line full throttle acceleration was fantastic, but I'm not used to the engine producing sounds that I haven't heard before.
I know that there is nothing to worry about, but I don't need that much power towing a 20' boat. Better fuel would help but I don't know where to buy it.
I am going next to try the SW2, TM3, TQ4, POD 99% combination and tow the boat up a grade.
I was advised by Wagner to try the SW3 program and see if I could get better mileage playing with the POD settings. Next week maybe.
Calibrating the tires was easy. Seems to be right on.
I like the cold high idle function. Very cool.
The best $495 investment I have ever made.
I am kicking myself in the butt for not buying one 130,000 miles ago.

Pros: Easy to operate, does just what it says it will do
Cons: Fuel Economy is off a little

I bought this after reading quite a bit about it on this forum. I wanted a tuner that was stand alone, easy to use and gave decent "safe" power. Everything i read about the Jr sold me. Comes with three stock settings that are laid out for you pre-shipping (SW1, SW2, SW3) and of course the ability to tune timing and torque in the PoD. While at some point i fully intend on tinkering with it to get my truck right where i want it, the stock tunes are great! One for fuel economy, one for towing, and one for performance. For the average joe schmoe who just drives his pig to work and back, and hauls crap with it on occasion, its fine out of the box.

Of course after installing it, i went straight to SW3 to see what it would do... and man was I underestimating it. Truck hauls like a raped ape. Smoke is minimal. FWIW i would reccomend this tuner to anyone who owns a 3rd gen and wants more out of their rig. It shifts smoother, pulls ALOT harder and really lays down what these engines were intended for. POWER. No qit reading and go buy one. Only thing i hate about the whole deal is I didnt get any decals...

Pros: step thru directions while programing
Cons: not customer friendly on updating the smarty

Love the power and the code reader / eraser. Bought with 22 me and still have 22me. Why? unsure of how well it will update with all the different computer programs you must use to update the smarty.
No older files on Madds site in case you need to go back to a older version file.

Pros: Plenty of power, quite a bit of adjustability, very easy to use.
Cons: time it takes to load is the only thing I can complain about.

Works very well on my truck. I don't get any smoke but power and mileage improved. I don't get on it often but even part throttle and shifts are very noticeable. I did notice I can't use my cruise control on SW3 TQ4 TM4 because it's too touchy and surges but it will run fine on SW3 TQ2 TM4.
