Description: The spirit of driving the Dodge Ram HO 6 speed NV5600 can be enhanced with the BD Short Shift kit. The Ram Diesel is very nimble but the stock gear shift lever movement leaves you feeling like you are driving an old pickup truck. The BD Short Shift reduces the shift lever travel by 20% and results in a new driving experience. Quick accurate smooth gear selection without damaging your passengerís knees.

Easily installed in an hour by removing the console to access the shifter shaft from inside the truck cab. The BD Short Shift kit is Ram tuff and a good quality design. The 5 speed NV4500 kit is currently being designed. Order yours today!

Pros: Easy install / Closer shift pattern
Cons:

The install is painless. The tighter shift pattern took a little getting used to, but i like the product.

Pros: Easy to Install
Cons: price new

At the price they are asking for the shifter, it is not worth it. If you are going to keep increasing your horsepower the shifting becomes worse. I was able to shift my stock shifter faster than I can the short shift, and like I said the more power I threw at the truck the more gears I miss.

Pros: Easy to install. Definitely shortened the shifts.
Cons: The stock shift handle ended up too far away.

When I 1st installed the BD short shift kit, my stock shift handle ended up too far away. I ended up installing the Whiplash handle which is bent towards the driver. The Whiplash handle also has the rubber bushing welded solid which also improved the shifting. This combo is excellent.

Pros: shorter shifts
Cons: didn't really like the feel**

the feel of the shifts felt weird. i read something online that said to try a weighted knob, and it improved the feel.

Cons: stranded truck

My BD short shifter snapped in half 2 weeks after its one year warranty was up. I welded it back together

Pros:
Cons:

For the money I was disappointed. Some shifts did seem shorter but they advertised it would move the shift lever closer to the driver, I felt it moved it farther away.
