Clutch Questions HELP!!!
Many, many years ago, i purchased a used but new dual disc clutch from a member here and installed it in my '05 Ram 3500. As of lately, when i have the clutch pedal pressed in, it sounds like the trans is ready to explode. There is a very loud, destructive sounding rattle coming from the trans, that when the clutch is released (no pressure on the pedal) goes away. The clutch still feels good, it does not slip on acceleration. Any thoughts what i could have going on? Is it possible that the throw out bearing has gone bad? Broken pressure plate? I really dont want to have to go and spend the money on a new clutch if its just a $35 bearing, however i am entertaining the idea of doing so. Any idea on what cost would be for a clutch that would fit my application?
The truck is my daily driver. Info is in my sig.
