Sliding hitch necessary for Megacab?

I saw a factory installed 5th wheel hitch, on the puck system, that was not a slider. Is the slider not required for the Megacab shorter bed?

I had one and it made it easier for sure to turn but still had someone watching my cab corners.

This will also depend on the newness of the rv as well as the front cap. Some caps have more room then others.

I don't have a Mega cab but I have a short bed and can get away with it but like it being said you have to watch the back window.

Thanks for the responses. I think for peace of mind, and convenience, I'll get another PullRite slider.
