Death Wobble!!!!!!

Hi Everybody , Iam expericing the dreaded death wobble and Iam looking for advice from anybody that has experinced it and if by chance found a cure. I had the new bfgs put on and started expericing the problem. Ive read the bfgs cause this actually? Is this true? Iam contemplating going out and buying toyo open country r/ts this weekend and Iam wandering if that is the best course of action?

Cheap things first. Replace your track arm bushings. Then your shocks. Then your control arm bushings.

Some people have had a problem with BFGoodrich tires. Personally, I never have and I have run them for over 250,000 miles. I have the brand new KO2's and I absolutely love them.

If it just started as soon as you put it on the new Goodrich tires, then you may take them back and see if the shop will swap them out for something else. In reality, you probably have a lot of worn front end components.

Been hearing the same thing about the BFG's. I am in the market for some new rubber but was truly turned off by all of the BFG's DW reports on a Cummins. The BFG A/T KO's have been my go-to tire on my half ton for the last 12 years and I love them on that truck, but not going to throw them on my 3500 CTD quite yet without learning a bit more. Some companies not recommending BFG at all for Heavy Duty Ram trucks (I am sure I can find that link again somewhere if needed) I honestly don't believe that BFG's are the cause of DW, however with their thinner side wall they may take advantage of any minor play that you might already have. If the DW started when you put on the new tires, they are likely playing a role in the problem...along with some worn out front end components.

The new BFG's have a very beefy sidewall. So far, the new KO2's are the best bfg ever in my book and I've run them since '94.

Well guys thank you for the time you took to reply, but I took the tires back and the guy worked with me and I got the Toyo open county R/T S and still does it, so I replaced track bar bushings and wheel bearings also added the Dodge steering stabilizer and it made it worst!!!!! So I am at wits end now

The death wobble has been beaten to death and mine had it. The BFG tires were the worst I had ever had but I changed the entire front end and upgraded to the 08 front end along with ball joints. This fixed it for me and I have never had to worry about it after this. I did not use the track bar or all of that I just did the steering components.

hello, are the BFG's you purchased Load Range E aired up to 60+ psi? if so start with track bar bushings. then check out shocks, ball joints, tie rods etc... otherwise look into new tires.

06 2500 CCSB 2" leveling kit, bilstien 5100's, carli track bar, 4" turbo back exhaust, afe intake, transgo shift kit, smarty s-06 POD, BD 60hp injectors, stock turbo. boost/egt/trans/RP gauges

Hey so I finally got the problem fixed. I took it back to the shop that did my track bar bushings and they looked at it and said the track bar bushings were defective. Napa covered the bushings through warranty and the shop reinstalled for free and now she drives like brand new :blush:. So now she has new tires, wheel bearings and track bar bushings and they said everything else is good to go, so hopefully now she will give no problems for a good while. I really do appreciate everybody taking the time to give your valued input
