RDieselZ I use power service diesel kleen every now and then with a fill up. Seems to help and aid fuel mileage..

93/4X4/CREWCAB/DUALLY The good thing is that the pump was just rebuilt before I bought it and the shop that did the rebuild also installed an airdog lift pump and filters along with the bigger fuel lines. The guy I bought it from said the truck started stumbling and then would not start. Weak lift pump took out the v pump.

seanb02 I run nothing but straight #2 diesel and have had zero issues doing so. Had to replace the factory VP44 at around 75-80k miles due to the garbage lift pumps that were put on these trucks from the factory, and mine was one of the lucky ones where it had the dealership "fix" done to it with the even worse in tank pump.

That being said, 70k miles later the VP44 I installed seems to be healthy and happy. I'm not going to knock the folks that use the additives, if it makes you feel better then absolutely, and it probably will increase the life of the injection pump. But the cost of using it, and the extra time at the pump to dump it in the tank makes it entirely pointless to me even if I have to replace my injection pump 10k miles sooner than the ones that use additives.

Luoppis Using 2 stroke oil can always run the risk of increasing carbon buildup on your injectors so it better be the really good stuff. On older injection pumps adding lubrication to fuel was always a nice thing, don't know about the VP though, maybe 2 stroke oil could help it run a small bit cooler?

Power Service came in pretty far down the list.

ledjunkie I use Power Service with cetane boost with most fillups.

When I had my F350 IDI I used to use Walmart low ash 2 stroke oil, a few oz. Per tank kept it nice and quiet. The thing about those motors was you could really hear the difference the additive made.

Hermes1 I run Hot Shot, their :Every Day" formula meant to add with each fill-up and now that we are in cold weather, some day's below freezing, I add their cold weather formula. Very happy with this product.

Fuel additives

Anybody running any additives in there fuel? I have heard of some guys running two stroke oil to help lube the pump? I sold my first gen about 5 years ago and now I bought a 98.5 24v so I'm back. Thanks
