The amount of lift you need to run 37's is entirely dependent on the wheels you plan to put them on. Narrower wheels with lower offset will require less lift than a wider wheel with negative offset to clear 37's.
You'll be far better off going with a BDS or Mcgaughy's kit over Tuff Country or Zone. I wouldn't recommend cheaping out on the main item that will affect the ride quality of your truck. At 6" or higher you're going to want a long arm kit.
And as N of 60 said, you're likely going to want to regear with 37's as well unless you happen to find a truck with 4.10's in it.

You need to put some $ up for gearing and a transmission if you don’t do gearing with 37s.
See where I’m going with this.

2010-2012 2500 clearance on 37"s
I currently have a gasser but a truck I plan to buy within the next few years is a 2010-2012 Ram 2500. They seem to be an extremely reliable platform once deleted and are at a good price currently on the market. Something I really would like to do is put a lift kit and 37"s on if I buy one but I'm concerned about their clearance and fitment.
Looking around, I see it's most common to put anywhere between a 6-8" lift kit on the truck for 37"s but I'm concerned about what is the best fitment. Currently, if I buy the truck, trying to keep my expenses down for mods, I'm looking at the Tuff Country 6" long arm lift and the Zone 8" lift. I don't want to go all out and drop over 4 grand or more on a BDS or McGaughy's despite them being the highest quality suspension lifts on the market.
Which of these lift kits would be better for fitting 37"s? Would appreciate the help. Thanks!
