Seeing that you have a dually (2 extra pieces of rotational mass) along with youíll be grossing heavy, I think 4.30 would make your driving comfortable.

If you only had 4-35ís instead of 6 then Iíd say your gearing way to low. But seeing that you have those extra 2, 4.30 would be my recommendation.

I have the aisin and I was thinking the same. That it wouldnít e cost effective to only jump to 4.10ís. Going with 4.30ís and 35ís would put me around 4.10 anyway correct?

I am going to go back to the gear guy on monday and have them make sure there is no issue with the gears, or correct it if there is. I have a feeling either the pinion preload is not correct or the backlash is not right as some have you guys have suggested.
of course, just my luck. nothing every seems to go without a hitch.

it drives good, no noises, and no shudder without a load.
i won't know if the shudder persists until there is a load on it, which won't be for some time

Update: I got ambitious and removed the aftermarket leaf springs and reinstalled the stock leafs with the add-a-pack. I finally loaded up the the truck and towed with the same load.

There is absolutely no shudder in any situation with this set-up.
this leads me to only one conclusion: the shudder I was experiencing was axle wrap from the springs and had nothing to do with the gears.
