I agree with you but the bottom line is they hold the cards inspection garages are also being watched and cracked down on so for me it's gotten to the point do I want to risk a 10k+ fine and not be able to get a 70k truck inspected just not worth it anymore. Honestly if ram got off their butts and produced that trx hellcat ram I'd have that right now but that would be the only half ton I'd consider

As I just went back to a new Cummins, I really would like to have access to some kind of delete program for the near future. If not then I surely will have to deal with the probable failure of the DPF and the thousands of dollars to replace. Then the EGR could heat and leak. The DEF system is a pain with sensors that often fail and fluid that dries, plugging up the injector.

All that stuff has the potential to be an expensive and time-consuming misery. It's just that with the Cummins, it is not so fragile. I hope. The last few days have been tragic for those that want to have a reliable modern diesel.
I'm i the same boat as you just got my 19 only have 900 miles on it and this BS happened so it is what it is if there's a tune that just turns off egr and def then great maybe i'll run that I know who writes them I won't say here on an open forum

10%more Can now add that I found a CARB settlement notice. Seems GDE PAID a $50,000 fee to them. Guessing that also admits responsibility.

Horsepower is not of interest to me. All that torque and power stock is overkill in my book. I want clean running and reliability. The EGR system in these engines is not horribly sooting the oil and the engine like other diesels. The DEF and DPF seem to be more reliable than with others also. Two reasons I went back to Cummins instead of waiting for one of the new 3.0L options.

Would still be nice to tune that EGR out and then quiet the DEF sensors. That's a tune that, to me, would promote more reliability and clean operation. To my knowledge a tune like that does not exist for the Cummins.

esminbritt I would like to add a tune once warranty is up iin 100k. But honestly, Im really happy with the numbers on the stock set up. I spent a lot of time planning and a lot of money chasing power. Sometimes it worked. but I never even attempted 1000 lb ft. At some point, it really is ok to just be happy with what you got. My First Truck probably made 150 HP and 175 ft lbs. If tuning diesels is done, I can live with this rig.

10%more To me the ideal thing is a tune that turns off the EGR, turns off the DEF sensors so you can run water instead of DEF in the tank and keeps all exhaust system components in place. You would run clean with no DEF hassles.

That is what near everyone runs on the Ecodiesel. It comes from GDE or SFT tunes. I would jump on one in a heartbeat as there's nothing for a dealer to see and with them there has never been a warranty issue reported.***

***Just today the GDE site is showing "Sold Out" on all their tuning products. That tells me they are not doing business right now. If it means more than that, what about ALL the other tuning operations?

That's what I am waiting for is when we have full deletes for the 2019s.
You'll likely have to buy parts you need in Canada, I understand there are now enough restrictions and tough enforcement on resellers meaning you won't be able to purchase in the US anymore. I got mine from MotorOps if that helps. Nothing for 2019 yet.
