cumminsturbofreak Yeah, I got the truck I wanted, just hope I don't have any cp4 issues.

Also, it looks like Dorian stalled like Harvey but over the Bahamas. So I apologize and I pray for the people of the Bahamas. May God be with you in this devastating time.

R Dale Last truck was a 2014 3500 Laramie towing a 39' 5th wheel (my 4th Dodge/Ram truck). My thoughts comparing the two are:
* go with the 12" display. It's only $1000 Cdn and pretty to look at
* ACC works as you would expect, it'll bring the truck to a complete start and restart if you're waiting less than 15 seconds
* Aisin shifts better shifting up and on hills, worse going down hill where it'll drop 2 gears instead of 1 at a time
* ordering the Air Levelling Suspension is iffy for me. The truck rides better over small bumps, worse over larger ones. My trailer pin box weight is near 3000# and when the road gets rough as with frost heaves, the back end kicks hard enough that clothes in the front closet are bounced off the hangers. Its like a pogo stick and feels like it has only 1" suspension travel. Slightly better in alternate height.
* when driving on cruise, the exhaust brake will come on going down hill even at 1-2 mph over the setting

Rbohno My wife happened to be in town visiting her parents who are in their mid 80s during Harvey and said within 6 or 8 hours the water went from ankle deep to waist deep and by the time someone with a raft could get there it was chest deep.
She(my wife) said she was one of the people you see on television with her work laptop bag resting on her head wading down her childhood neighborhood road with chest deep water.

My brothers used their boats with the Cajun Navy for rescues, one brother in Santa Fe and the other in Conroe.

cumminsturbofreak I was actually living north of Houston when Harvey hit. I tell you, that was something else. It just stalled over Texas and caused crazy extreme flooding. My sister's house was close to being swallowed by water because of Lake Conroe dam. Fortunately, my entire family escaped unscathed, but a few friends were not so lucky...

On the flip side, a fast moving hurricane like Irma doesn't cause nearly as much damage as long as the building codes are up to par, and it looks like Dorian is speeding back up.

In any case, let's hope we all stay high and dry the rest of this season, because unfortunately, there are a couple more disturbances the NHC is watching.

Rbohno I have been in the Carolinas for 13 years but my wife and I were born and raised in Houston/Galveston ,TX area and have been through some brutal hurricanes as I am sure you have as well.
So I pray for all that there is no loss of life with this one, my wife’s parents lost their home of 60 years in Harvey “without flood insurance”.
We had several members of our direct family that lived in StBernards parish, La and Katrina took everything from their homes to their fishing boats.

So no worries, I know you didn’t mean anything negative. Hurricanes just hit home with us “ no pun intended”.

Congrats on the new truck and stay high and dry.

I apologize, but it was a complete joke for Florida that caused mass panic with severe gas shortages. The state is crippled. As for the Carolinas, we can all just hope it continues to turn to sea.

cumminsturbofreak So, I pulled the trigger on the one in Kissimmee since they were able to match a discount I saw on one in Livingston, TX. Still expensive, but I wanted to take advantage of the 0% Financing for 36 months....

I can't pick it up until Monday or Tuesday when the insurance company lifts restrictions due to a hurricane.... Oh well.

Absolutely! In hot-as-heck Texas, it also makes me feel like I am in some sort of shade lol

This is a big reason I'm sticking to the sport package, otherwise, I wouldn't care so much. Years down the road, I could always paint the chrome to freshen up the look, but headlining (for me) is permanent until it falls down.

Another plus for the Sports Appearance (For me) is the black headliner and inserts. I hated how no matter how much I tried to keep my 13's clean, a smudge would somehow find it's way on it. Good luck. Sports appearance or not. chrome or no chrome, these rigs are awesome.
