|EEnvy||Sounds like #5 is your problem. Also make sure to check the radiator fluid. If it’s low the white smoke during start up could also be radiator fluid leaking into the cylinder.|

Always scarry upsetting broke down on the road thousands of miles from home especially with young family.
Don't trust the rest of the injectors on long trips, at least pull and have tested. Exergy or BBI are the ONLY ones I let touch Bosch HPCR injectors, complete full range test across pressure Min to Max, flow and they can even heat the injectors to reproduce engine heat effects. Any moron can test the old mechanical spring pop injectors.
Morons that screwed these fine Bosch HPCR injectors were the cheap bean counters at Chrysler Corp and GMC who went cheap on fuel filters. Bosch engineering told them, commercial HD 2 micron dirt filter and mandatory water separators meeting Bosch specs. But no, the cost cutting bean counters in the auto industry screwed you the diesel pickup buyer. Reason Bosch NEVER warrantied these to the diesel pickup companies. Chrysler always covered their own warranty injectors with their krapola wrapped in tacos and spread black bean grease injectors in the Saltillo Mx. plant. Dodge is incapable of rebuilding any precision parts. They can't even build a HD pickup with a decent front end on and safe steering.
Dodge Cummins Ram, break out another $10,000 after a long walk and tow.

|CumminsPowered||Put about 55 miles on the truck today and it ran great. We went back to Yellowstone park today and on our way out my phone is ringing and it’s a Utah number so I immediately think another telemarketer. After sighing I pick up the phone and here it was Matt from Diesel Auto Power calling to ask me how everything went and make sure I was back on the road. They were great to deal with and worked with me. I wasn’t able to get to their shop until after hours. I was able to arrange to pick up the injector 3 hours after they closed. I will definately be a returning customer.|

Thats great news.
My understanding, the light will clear itself after at least 5 starts and driving runs, if there is no active code. Its my experience when I have left off sensor plugs.
So how did you know that that particular injector was defective? I must have missed that in the thread. I thought you were originally replacing all 6.[/QUOTE]
My buddy has a diesel shop back home in Pa, he told me pull the valve cover and take one lead off of each injector one by one and start it up and see if the motor runs worse or stays the same. I started with number 1 injector and took the lead off. Started the truck back up and touched the wire to the injector on and off and the motor ran noticeably worse. Ran worse until I got to cylinder #5. There was no change on number 5 so we figured that had to be the problem cylinder.
