Cheeze Mine hits 5 psi like one second after pressing the accelerator and quickly hits 18 or so on normal acceleration. Might hit 30-35 with pedal to the floor if I'm pulling or going uphill. I'm passing 1300 rpm or so when the boost gauge zips past the 5psi mark. I get a puff of haze unless I'm just putting around gently. I'm not one to putt around though. I need to put a larger exhaust on, that will help I think. I've been considering the K27 turbo but my Holset is still in very good condition and I'm trying to restrain myself lol. I think I'm on the ragged edge of what the HX35 can handle right now though.

blackDOHC I'm going the he351cw route soon as well, I snagged mine for $150. Just need to pick up a few odds and ends now.

There are quite a few options for actual drop in replacement turbos now days though. I'm on the fence now whether I should sell my 351 now that its all rebuilt and grab a drop in aftermarket turbo or just run it.

Dallyquad12er Turns out I had 4x.011 injectors with the wrong spray pattern. Swapped in 5x.012 SAC Diesel Auto Power injectors and she's running alot better. Still not building boost properly. I'll be looking into boost leaks when the weather clears up and am looking for a larger turbo in the meantime. I know for a fact my turbo needs replaced asap.

Anyone have any suggestions on what would be a good match for the injectors I installed? I'm strongly considering an HE351CW. But if there's something that bolts right in I'm all ears.

You should find out the hole count, size, and spray angle. It is super important for a good running engine.

DDP usually does the stage nomenclature on their injector. They never indicate size, hole count, or spray angle. As far as I know they are the only one's who don't. Most people choose to stay away from them for this reason.

Anyways, only 5lbs at 1800RPM at full throttle? You have another issue going on there entirely. Most likely the AFC configuration is not correct.

Those numbers are meaningless as well. Hole count, size of holes, and spray angle are the numbers you need to know. If you are accelerating in 3rd, WOT and only producing 5 psi of boost you have a problem, no matter if you are in Denver or Houston.

In the same scenario I'd say I'm making 5lbs at around 1800 at a mile above sea level at full throttle 3rd gear.
The previous owner told me he had the largest injectors an hx35 could handle before having to upgrade to a larger turbo. What size injectors that is is beyond me. He said something about stage 2 so thought it was worth mentioning. Whether that's 75hp, 150hp or 40hp, I don't know.
