DMan1198 Thanks Mike. Iím still surprised sometimes this truck hasnít broken anything in the last six years of running at 5-600whp.

I guess I never posted about it here, but around Halloween some lowlife stole the 30Ē light bar out of my bumper (it was a cheap one thatíd been on since Christmas 2014). Nevertheless Iím still peeved about it, but the replacements showed up today. Four 9Ē 140w monstrosities from Amazon. The build quality is decent, they have Deutsch plugs on them conveniently, and the light output looks pretty stellar (tested by just just sticking the wires on my Jettaís battery to verify they all work). The fun part is they come with removable covers in flood and spot patterns, so I have a replacement cover for each just one case. Now I just have to spend a day building a mounting bar.

Mike Holmen Looking good buddy. Wow the truck sounds good. I'm glad that the new tuner is working out for you.

DMan1198 Well here it is. This is where I wanted to put it when I first decided I wanted one about three years ago. Itís all on Velcro, so itís easy enough to relocate it if I want.

DMan1198 Yup. The truck is now running on warp, and the mini maxx is in the closet. I’m letting the glue cure on the new mount. I’ll post pictures tomorrow when I put the mm3 back on the mount.

So youíre still going to write your own tunes?

Andrewme I'm 6'5 lol. The steering wheel would be in the way if I mounted it below the gauge cluster. With it being up in the corner of the windshield it's out of the way and I can still watch it out of the corner of my eye. But it comes down to user preference. Just find a place that works best for you. There was a thread on here awhile back that was for how to mount the mini maxx. There were alot of good idea in it.

DMan1198 This is how I had my mini maxx mounted for the last ~5 years. Iíve thought about putting it higher up, but Iím not very tall, and I need to be able to get at the sd card on a regular basis.

For esses and gees this morning I weighed both units. The mm3 is just over 100 grams heavier than the mini (53 vs. 154). Also the four open screw holes on the back are m3.

chev1doc Years ago when I purchased my MM, I too didnt want to use the suction cup mount or replace a gauge on my pillar.

So, I searched and found the MM mount for above the mirror. Works well for me and is hidden from seeing it on the outside due to the factory sunshade tint on the windshield. If I remember correctly, they had two or three different colors to match different interiors.

Its molded plastic and might be trimmed to fit yours. The hardest part was tucking the HDMI cable under the headliner and running it down to my OBD2.

It works well with the mini maxx. Anything bigger would probably need something alittle more sturdy.

DMan1198 That’s a good option, but I already have five gauges on the pillar, and feel like it’d get a little crowded there with anything more. My thoughts are something to the right of the steering wheel. Maybe a little higher than where the mini maxx currently sits.
