Newb

I just bought my first cummins this week: 2012 2500 crew 4x4 short bed. I love it thus far. I am going to do my best to wait on any deletes due to the remaining factory warranty (33 months and 54K miles). It seems as though there are no "friendly" service managers in my area of operation (AO) who/which would allow for me to delete and maintain warranty. I live in Southeast Missouri (SEMO)

Welcome to the forum and the Cummins world! As tempting as I am sure it is to delete it, you are doing the smart thing by waiting.

Well I just (yesterday) spoke with a local service manager and gave me a green light for egr cooler delete, dpf delete, and turbo back exhaust with a small tune-- all while maintaining what is left of factory warranty. Is this a ploy?? Inquiring minds wanna know. What say you o knowledgeable forum??

Depends on the parts that would covered by warranty. If it's engine or trans related, you're likely SOL. But other powertrain items should be fine. I've had front axle u-joints, seals and recalls done under warranty while deleted.

Agreed, anything engine related will probably void the warranty and any recalls that might come up. We've had several on the '13 and '14 at work.
