1963 Dodge Crewcab 2wd Conversion

So here we go with my conversion. A lot of my build will be piggybacking on Ramx4 because I really like what hes doing.

My 63 is my daily driver. It currently has a 2000 Magnum 5.2. Is been great, but Im looking for a little chassis/power upgrade.

Plan for my truck is a lot of rust repair and putting my truck on a 93 2wd 5.9 Cummins 5 speed extended cab long bed frame. The 93 frame has a 3 longer wheelbase. The plan as of now is to 4 link and airbag the rear. This will allow me to move the axle forward and achieve my desired wheelbase. I will be running a York AC compressor for my air system.

So far the front end has been rebuilt and I have swapped the cab onto the 93 Frame.

Little more progress. Got the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder mounted. I also got the pedals squared away. I ending up using the 93 clutch arm and pedal. I cut the pedal off the arm and moved it up 3/4. Then, I cut the pedal off my factory 63 brake arm and the pedal off the 93 arm. I welded the 93 pedal onto the 63 arm. I moved it down 3/4 lower then the factory pedal. Now I have matching pedals.

You'd probably be happier with a Hydroboost brake system then you could also delete the vacuum pump.

I have been thinking about it. Would you recommend the newer dodge one or a Chevy style one?

Just did a bunch of reading and it looks like a good idea. Vacuum pump delete looks like its a little pricey..

No need to delete the vacuum pump....just plug the end and run on, not going to hurt anything if it's building vacuum and it's not going anywhere. But I agree Hydroboost is the way to go....I did this on my 1st Gen crewcab build and is one of the best upgrades I have done to make the truck just that much better, and safer to drive.

Cool. Im pretty tight on clearance to my intake tube. Does the hydro boost have about the footprint as far as length?

Little bit of progress. Finished the radiator, intercooler, and electric fan mounting.

Still chugging away. Moved the 2 gas tank crossmembers forward 3”. Cut all the rivets off the leaf spring hangers and moved the axle forward 3”. Cut 4” off the back of the frame and boom! Wheelbase is where I want it..
