Today was a good day. I had my 24v top rad hose show and as expected with about 75 mm trimmed off the engine end it fit up perfect to the 7.3 radiator. Also had the fan and radiator in together for the first time and i have about 1.5-2'' or so of clearance from the rad to the stock 12v fan. I also trimmed out the fan shroud so it all fits up neat and tidy. I'ts really coming together and looks very factory so far. I'm having the tail shaft cut and shortened this week coming hopefully.
Next step is onto the power steering setup and then it's pretty well drivable. the gauges and all the stuff that not important will be hooked up once it can be driven around to various shops etc.

Also ill be making my throttle linkage for the p-pump tomorrow as well. My temporary copper one binds up a little and leaves the engine revs at about the 1100 mark I'm guessing until i pull the go pedal back up with my foot(not ideal).

I'm kind of annoyed my engine didnt come with the p-pump linkage seen as though i paid a premium price for the engine.

Ok next thing i was going to quiz you blokes about is the degas tank. My stock super duty one will no longer fit as the high mounted ac fouls on the front of the pulley that the ac belt runs on. Has anyone used an inline radiator adapter and just used an aftermarket overflow tank, and just bunged off the small hose on the bottom of the radiator? I watched a few videos on youtube and blokes have did this but unsure of the results.

Being a welder you could fab up your own tank design to work in a location that's best for you
Install a filler neck that welds or bolts onto your tank
Google Radiator expansion tanks for ideas

Here's a link to a bolt on filler

I just used one of a Holden Cruise but added a separate pressure cap as the Holden is high. Should find any number of choices at a wreckers.
Cheers Steve

something cheap will do wont it. I'll look into whats around locally i think.

now im deleted the vacuum pump offe power steering and selling the hole setup to my mate in exchange for a power steering pump that has no vacuum as im hydro boosted anyway. wont have to cap vac line that way only the oil supply line for the vacuum pump

farrrkk i was lucky my mate pointed in the right direction with the tail shaft. so i dropped off the rear half to be shortened when in actual fact the gearbox was the part that had moved (derrr) so the bloke doing the job luckily hadnt started otherwise it woulda a been a balls up bad. Few parts should arrive this week so i can run the new heater hose lines and make intercooler piping and bottom radiator hose. once this is in place the rest is pretty simple and the auto electrician can get to work hooking up the rest for me...

now i wanna purchase an afc live with the 30-35psi spring kit. i currently have a #10 fuel plate but with the afc live i will need there afc foot right? or is the fuel plate and the pump 2 different things and im confused??/

If you already have a 10 plate install it and see how it runs.
If you decide to go with AFC Live you don't need another afc foot, I didn't modify mine because I felt it was more of a high performance thing and I wouldn't need that much fuel for my towing app.
