(because I'm curious) If he were to use the TIPM/PCM/ECM (not all that sure what would be applicable) and harness' out of a 7.5 - 09 truck, wouldnt he be able to utilize the 6.7 injectors? It sounds to me that he is already going to need to custom tune it all any how, so why would the firing voltage matter? My concern would be having to turn up the 5.9 injectors to help with the greater displacement.

Asking because I genuinely don't know.

Be careful with running 6.7 injectors on a 5.9 ECM. They use different voltages and amps. Some say it can be done but with some massive hiccups on startup.

I am swapping my 2003 5.9 with an 2016 6.7 and I am swapping out all injectors and harnesses back to run all electronic stuff for the 2003 so it will be plug and play. Good luck man.

The crank is home. Turned down 10/10 so on size thicker bearings and good to go. Not going crazy with power on this setup.

Ordering painless wiring harness for a 2005 truck/pcm setup. Getting a manual 5.9 pcm for this swap since 727 trans being used .Using all the 6.7 electronics and what not just switching over the few pigtails I need and the 2005 rail psi sensor. Test for and mock up coming soon got a few side jobs rolling right now and barn is tied up!

I know it seems like this is taking forever but I am a very busy guy this time of year and vacation is coming but look what came in finally. The bearings have arrived so I can now get the cam and crank into the block and start this fun project.

Took my pressure washer to the bunker up motor lol and this is how it came out after. Itís rrally clean had to remove galley plugs and what not to clear out the passages. I am shocked as to how simple the cummins oil flow path is. The oil squirters are all clear also. Went to drop crank in and they shipped me standard mains when I know for a fact I ordered .025 thicker ones. So gotta call them Monday and get this sorted out so I can get rolling on this assembly. The down time I will Be porting the stock air horn and removing the turbo vgt motor to do a mechanical wastegate rod setup with a cable brake setup.

Crank is in the engine!

Cam is in the engine!

Cover is all sealed up on the motor!

Next is the fun task of cleaning the head off and resealing the stems because I donít want to risk a messed up seal leak from this sludge mess!

A note on using a mechanical setup on the vgt. They don’t provide the best performance characteristics. You’re far better off using the electrical actuator, and tuning it by shaft speed. @Rx7man, and one other 2nd genner whose username eludes me would be the guys to talk to about setting them up properly without using a cm2100, or newer ecm.
