Easy, service trani and do new Governor pressure sensor and solenoid and just from fun the speed sensor too. Adjust bands while at it. But that GP sensor is the main issue. 8- 11 quarts of ATF 4 depending if you get the TC drained or not.
Absolutely do not but cheap Chinese electrical parts for trani.
Do not know what brands you have available, but use ones like Mopar, Bosch, Standard, Duralast(autozone best), Borg Warner etc.

Start with adjusting your bands and see how it goes. Usually a slow shift from 1st to 2nd is caused by the bands been to slack. Just look up 47RE band adjustment and you'll see how to do it.

Any parts or Dealer. Just make sure you go by correct year. 98.5 and 99 may be different from 00-02. Only buy name brands as i stated above.
Often I would say Rock auto, but they do not show any name brands now for this part.
Autozone
Napa
Dealer, etc or transmission wholesale parts stores like Transtar, PDQ. NO CHEAP off brands.
Last rebuilt valve body I got had cheap bad solenoids/sensors from the factory.
When asking ask for:
Governor pressure sensor
Governor pressure solenoid
Transmission speed sensor.
Tha only leaves the OD/lockup solenoid pack. Probably not your present issue, but, while you are there?
Filter and gasket kit
8-11 qts ATF-4. Cheapest at walmart Supertech.

I get everything for mine from Rockauto.com
I'm in Ireland and those pickups were never sold here only imported ones so parts are not available in any auto parts store. Before you go spending money on parts I'd recommend adjusting your bands and a new filter and fluid into your transmission.

I will try adjust the bands, what is the pricing in USA? I just got an offer for 670$ for Governor pressure sensor and Governor pressure solenoid? Seems like usery.

One more question while we are at it, does anyone know how much presure there is in the cooling lines from the transmission? Can i put a hose from the line that goes behind the gearshifting stick?

regards Johan

You can use rubber transmission hose to fix the lines. Not fuel line. Transmission hose is 300lb. Lines should be a lot less than 100lb. Her it is about $130 to $180 for the tow solenoids. About 7-100 for one and about 60 for the other. I think GM has a similar one in their trani's that works.
Do you have a Jeep dealer there? They can get them May even fit some older Jeep 518 tranis.
What parts brand stores do you have that we may have here. If yo have time can you order them from here and ship by mail, fedex or ups.

This may help
First is sensor and second is solenoid or visa-versa. third is the OD pack.
