I recommend south bend for your clutch. Gotta represent my home state and I have met them on several occasions in person. Great HONEST guys. They will tell you straight up an answer and not beat around the bush.

Yes sir, to me it is most definitely worth it. Kind of like a straight pipe. After so long it gets annoying when your towing. To me anyway.

Lots of good recommendations!

I will add mine:
75-100HP injectors
Big line kit to get better fuel flow and less drop of pressure so you can get the most out of your DDRP
Single clutch Valair HD organic (13" flywheel)
Valair DD organic- can be had in 1.25 input shaft.
2wd lo kit (lock out FWD so you can crawl in reverse in 2 wheel low)

You want it to tow like a more modern truck, yet no one asked your rear axle ratio yet.
Here is my 2cents. Modern trucks tow so much better because they have the gears to do so. It's less about power, and more about useable power.
Assuming your truck has 4.10s, and the nv5600....you are already exceeding your efficient rpm range once you hit around 60mph. Regardless how much power you are making. Empty 1800rpm is about perfect on these 24vs. Towing a hill 2200 is a lot better.
I expect, empty and at 70mph..you are closer to 2400rpm. And that....is terrible.

So..here is my list of upgrades...in order of priority, that seems will best suit what you asked for
1) Gear vendors o/d
2) new driver/passanger seat foam
Washing your seat upholstery in the washing machine, while you have it off
3) new carpet with sound deadener attached
4) Sulastic Shackles
5) Bilstein 5100s shocks
6) any performance programmer...because honestly, you will be happy with pretty much any of them
7) 90hp injectors..minimum...120hp max

I prioritized GearVendors first, because it will make the biggest improvement, by allowing you to actually take full advantage of the power your truck makes. Programmers/injectors mask the real problem.....poor gear ratio options.
Then clean up your aged interior. Will feel like a new truck again.
Soften the harsh ride with Sulastic Shackles
Then lastly, add a lil more pep to her step with a programmer and some injectors

Gear vendor isn't really needed, it's a nice feature but not needed, you start towing over 10k and you wont want that much od, at least not with 3.55's.

Suspension geometry is a big factor. a control arm drop kit would help, as well as progressive coils, If the ride bothers you.
These trucks don't behave like newer gens but they get the job done.

His truck is a 6spd. Strong chance it has 4.10s. Which means he needs one more gear to cruise 70-75 comfortably.
