Question vacume leak

Quick question about the vacume pump on my 98 12v. I noticed it was knocking and that my heater workes than dosent. And also noticed that you can here a small ticking sound at the fuel tank and it not a exhaust leak. any ideas? Could it be the vacume pump or some thing else? thanks

are all the hoses connected, complete (not cracked)?

there go 2 small plastic vacum hoses to the top of the front end cab, which tend to break when messing around in the inj. pump area...

my 98 12valve has that same ticking noise at the fuel tank. dont know, but I have noticed it on more then one 98 12v

If heat comes on intermittenly...you may want to check the blower motor, or brake booster..mine was doing that before I replaced the booster. Take the hose off of the line from the vacuum pump going to the booster, start the truck and see if it has vacuum.
