Fuel prescreen+heater delete

In my searching I could not find much about removing the whole assembly so....
This is what I did.
I removed the pump and bowl assembly, I cut the mount off the bowl to use as a spacer. I put a 3/8s barb inplace of the 1/2 90 degree barb. Then unhooked the braided line from the steel line that goes back to the tank, about 2 feet of line from the steel line on the frame straight to the pump. This bypasses the factory steel braid that was breaking down and putting all kinds of black junk into the prescreen and filter. The large fitting is 1/2 inch pipe, then go to what ever size line you want.

Quick question, I understand deleting the pre heater, I did that to mine. It leaks air, my wires were corroded and melted, etc. But why would you want to delete the pre-screen?

I wanted to by pass the factory steel braided line, and just to further simplify the fuel system, there are lots of trucks with only the screw on filter and they dont have problems.
