low rpm sputter, and unstable idle

hey,

my 12v is unstable at idle, not like the truck shakes, it just sounds like it misses on one cylinder every 1.5 seconds. and when its under a load, like taking off in second or shifting to third, around 1000 to 1400 rpm it sputters, like its starving for fuel, but after that it hauls pretty good and leaves quite a bit of black after 1500rpm, i think its supposed to smoke black more but im not sure. it sputters in every gear, even first but its hardly noticable cuz its not a big load.

i did hook up a fuel pressure gauge, but i don't have a needle valve yet and can't even get one here, believe it or not, so im gonna order one. but would the fuel pressure be a lot different running in idle than under load? fuel volume problem?

or do i have a worn out injector? the truck had been sitting for 1.5 years. i did not blow out any lines yet, but i did put new diesel in cleaned the tank and pulled injectors, cleaned them, new ofv and lift pump.

thanks

just had the same thing on my conversion. Injectors sat for a couple years and had to take them to an injector shop and have them popped. put them into the truck about an hour ago and it runs a lot better.

Is there any way I can make a pop tester for a Cummins? There's no one in my town that does, live up north in Canada so

You sure there's no one?
Any heavy equipment or tractor shop can pop them.
