Is the truck completely stock?

Was the flywheel machined?

I'd never expect a stock clutch to hold up against a slid plate & semi-tuned afc. Especially during heavy 5th gear acceleration.

driving the truck more tonight it seems that the clutch pedal lets off at the top of the throw or late. NOT at the floor board. I did some searches and seen where the slave cylinder itself does not let the throw out bearing to disengage completely. Could this be my problem? Should i try slightly loosing the slave away from the bellhousing to see if it would make a difference?? i have seen a stock clutch from napa just like this one take more than this, and it doesn't make sense that old clutch was doing the same exact thing??????

The OEM clutch will take more power then that motor is making, Why would the slave cyl. rod be to long? Unbolt the cylinder and see how much the fork free play is.

No free play at the throwout fork ? If there is NO fp at the fork the problem is in side.

there is free play with the fork itself... the rod from the slave just goes in harder than any of my five speeds... what could be the issue inside of it?? could i try putting some washers between the slave and bell housing to see if it the slave itself not releasing enough???

just for the record on stock clutch strength. i had a stock clutch the same style that i ripped the center out of before i ever got it to slip... so i agree that this one shouldn't be slipping with the mods mentioned..

OK so you have free play at the fork. Then its not in the bell housing your left with the slave or the master try the washers but it sounds like one of the two are not returning all the way back.
