My last engine did that same thing, and IIRC my mechanic at the time told me I
was just going to have to accept the fact that I had the cutest little exhaust leak.

Mine did that when it had bad valve stem seals.

Does your truck white or grey smoke? If no then I would ignore the stain.

I have 60lb springs to install. Need some valve seals and a warm place to do it. Bluish when cold, then pretty decent unless I floor it. Smells rich for fifteen minutes after startup.

96 Ram 2500 4x4 automatic. Engine number: ??? Missing.

When you do the springs use MLS gaskets at the manifold.

95 3500 auto, bhaf, 4k, kdp, gauges, air bags, fuel htr delete, 33"s, dually spacers, 4.10 lim slip, 2" level, silicone hoses, tps delete, tcc switch

Yes; 6 MLS gaskets for the exhaust manifold to head.

R12 in the summer, Webasto in the winter; cassette tapes & SAE-20078 all year.

How are the stock bolts going to come out? Best to try hot? Cold? Rub the Buddha belly first?

My 97 did that when the manifold shrunk and pulled the end up. Try tightening it. that worked for mine but I replaced it anyway. Craig

2012 CCLB 4wd dually, 3.73, 68rfe, Fass, BD IH and E-brake kits. DD and towing machine.

Pb blaster. Soak. Unbolt. Might as well put at least a 3 piece manifold back on.

this is what i did. all bolts came out...but i have 120k on my engine. i did use the cheap gaskets though...didn't know about the MLS stuff.
