96 Ram Transfer case.

Hello to all, did the 96 Ram 2500 have a shift motor for the transfer case?. was that an option?.
want to get rid of shift knob on floor.

no shift motor, that wasn't an option until 03 when they went to the 271 t-case

Shaughty - '95 2500 RCSB 2WD, PDD 850hp Trans, a lot less than 850hp.

Yeah and a newer style transfer case wont fit between the frame rails

2012 cc dually 6speed, mini max, cooler delete, h&s intake horn, boost tube,5ich pipe,gdp big line kit Amsoil dealer since 2006
1996 12v 430000 miles. Built trans. 62mm hx 35 90hp injectors

Its close but they fit. Ive heard some guys say theyve had to beat on the frame rail but mine fit with a 1/4 to spare.

I seen a guy try to put one in a 98 and it would not fit. Unless he beat the frame rail in

Im not sure if my setup will help any. My 271 is attached to a zf6. Although center line remains the same, driveline and crossmember etc. wont be close to what you are trying to accomplish. I can take a pic if you want.

maybe I could just weld on a handle at the transfer case. that would have me to crawl under. or a custom shift lever under the seat.
