Coolant bleeding ....again.

I've looked here on the forum and Google itself for this answer. I've even looked in my Haynes manual.. the manual says fill the reservoir and radiator to full. Put cap on radiator start truck let warm up with heat on full... Let thermostat open. Turn off truck.. add coolant.
But I'm also seeing different stuff on the internet.. bleeder screws etc... So what's the real answer. @GAmes if you see this your advice is always welcomed.
I'm fixing to replace the thermostat and gaskets today after I clean up this garbage of a house.

The check valve for the cooling system (jiggle valve) has been discussed numerous times and is fully explained in the FSM. The system is self bleeding.

Just fill it up, drive it, let it cool, and fill it up again. Takes about 3 or 4 times to get it topped off.

No need to bleed.
