47re to replace 47rh

47rh Tranny went out in my 95 2wd. I found a super deal on a 47re for a 2001 4x4. Would it be possible to make this tranny work in my 95

Not without a standalone computer, or the factory computer + the accompanying wiring harness.

You would have to shorten your driveshaft to use that trans, I have a 47re in my Blazer with a standalone controller.

84 K5 Blazer 97 12v, 47re with E-TransControl, Dodge Dana 60 with free spin hubs, Dana 70, B&M Mega shifter

Where did you find the controller, also is the trans from a 2001 beefier than the stock 95 trans

Dodge Transmission | E-TransControl , They are basically the same trans only the re is electronically controlled. The 24v's put out more HP and TQ so i'm sure it would be good for your truck.

Crossmembers are the same from 94-97 across all trucks (1500-3500). 98-02 crossmembers are still compatible but also accommodate the NV5600 without modifications.

'95 2500 ECLB 4x4, 334k and paused due to epic transformation in progress.

So it appears this tranny will bolt right in with a standalone and drive line modified, are there any other hidden surprises I might run into, I just want to have everything prepared.

Does the transfercase have the VSS in the tailshaft so your speedometer will work? Sometime around those years they went to the tone ring in the rear axle for the speedometer.

But you could always use a GPS speedometer like I did.
