47RH to RE OD housing

Started gathering parts for auto swap about a year ago and...

picked up a 241dhd transfer case with driveshafts(regular cab like mine) for cheap off of a 2000 Dodge 2500 46re and was planning on finding a 47re to pair it with (both 23 spline)

Looked for 9 months and finally found a deal on a 47rh. Oh well, I can mess with driveshafts.

Did some searching/figuring and the 47rh needs a longer input shaft on the transfer case to seal/full engagement and obviously driveshaft length diffences as stated

I plan on doing a full manual valvebody so I don't think I will need the governor on the 47rh anyhow so my idea...

Will a 47re od housing and output shaft work on a 47rh?
How about 46re? Those are a dime a dozen at the salvage yard and supposedly the same as a 47re based on what I can find.
Just thinking it would save me the messing around swapping transfer case inputs, driveshafts, and possibly less likely to crack with a transfer case hanging off the back.

The 46re is a Gasser trans and not strong enough, and the reason they are so cheap is because there was more gas then diesel trucks made.

The 47rh trans is a couple inches longer then the re, if doing a manual VB why not just use the rh.

Thanks for the input. My plan was to put just the overdrive housing from an re on the rh. If it were as simple as finding a 47re I would have done that. Looked for almost a year and finally found a 47rh.
