Low oil pressure at idle and operating temp

Hey I have a 98 12 valve 5speed and I have low oils pressure at idle like 3 psi. But if I hold the throttle at 850 rpm when coming up to stop signs it’s fine it drops to 32/34 psi. I took the 4ks out of it because I couldn’t keep a head gasket together but never turned the idle back up. Could it be to low of an idle? The heads been decked and the engine has been overhauled about 50,000 miles ago. Another thought was the timing was off when I did the valve lash. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you using a mechanical gauge? What is your idle speed?

If it is your gauge on the cluster then the oil pressure sensor is on its way out. If its mechanical check your fittings for oil clogging.
