I got it all figured out. The timing was set to spec according to the data plate (13.5 deg BTDC). I advanced it to 17.
Replaced injectors and delivery valves, installed governor spring kit, adjusted valves. Also installed the shutdown solenoid. Now I’m waiting on the backordered AFC Live and kit.

While I wait on engine goodies, here’s another question.:
I want to remove the lift/leveling kit from the front end and go back to stock. The kit looks to be just a spring spacer, longer shock, and longer lower control arms. Can you recommend a kit with all polyurethane bushings?

Yesterday I pulled the evaporator out to clean it. Yuck. It’s all better now, though!

I replaced the top half of the dash, and painted the lower to match the grey ‘00 interior plastics. While I had it out I cleand and resealed all the ductwork. Oughta work like a new one.

Scored a really nice bed, tailgate and bumper, along with a brake controller this weekend. That accelerates things a bit!

New dash is in, AFC live controller and AFC mods done.

I’m looking at fuel tank sender/gauges. Is there a particular one that is better, or one to avoid? Want to knock out that and fuel line replacement while the bed is off.
Thanks!

Can't say anything about the senders, I thank you'll be fine with a draw straw rather than installing a sump but that's a personal choice.
Go with a min of 3/8 supply line but my personal choice is 1/2".
There was a tech article some years ago about the advantages of changing to 1/2" supply line, don't know where to find that article today.

Thanks, I think I found the article on Tork Tek website.

I had a litte test drive last night, and the need for a better clutch is obvious! The decision now is between the 13” South Bend organic or feramic or hybrid lining.

I was hoping to have the truck ready to tow my Civic to the Gambler 500, but looks like I’m running out of time. Still have to swap a trans in the gambler.

Still moving along slowly.
Got the new clutch in, all new u-joints and carrier bearing. Had to have new yokes welded in the front driveshaft. Gave up messing with the vacuum CAD and installed a Posi-lok cable setup. New exhaust is in, a hundred little things. Cab is about to go to paint prep this week.

Since I last checked in:

Decided to go with OEstyle fuel sump/sending unit, and replaced all the fuel lines “from the rooter to the tooter”. New supply pump, inlet screen, heater delete. New throttle cable and lever etc. Removed Prime Lock filter relocation gizmo.
Cab painted, camper tiedowns installed then bed on.
New Bilsteins, swaybar endlinks, a hundred odds and ends. The plan is to take it on vacation in < 2 months with the camper on it. Biggest thing left is removing the leveling kit and replacing all the wear parts in the front end.
