Low oil pressure

When I'm driving and get on the throttle too hard my oil pressure drops to zero, but then if I hammer all the way down it goes back up to normal. This is a new issue to me and I've never seen anything like it before. Any ideas what it might be?

Have you checked oil pressure with a gauge attached to it?? You could have a bad pressure sender
