12V Camshaft ... how many variants ?

How many different cams did Cummins put in the 12V 5.9?

Here are the two data plates from these two engines. One came out of a '95' Dodge and the other a Freightliner.

The injection pumps are different and I am beginning to believe Cummins has different cams for these engines too.

Thanks for any guidance.

Here is a way to verify the cams are the same or not. Plug both ESNs into Cummins Quickserve and see if the part numbers are the same.

Well, this a very useful site.

The part numbers are 3929040 for the 175HP engine
3929041 for the 210HP engine

Whoda thunk it. I figured they are the same.
