NV4500 Housing Swap

I know I should use the search feature to find what I need, but just couldnt find info for exactly what I want to do. I'm looking for some information but mainly a few pictures of the process of tearing down an NV4500. Ive found plenty in regards to the rebuilding but am unsure about how simple the teardown is. I put a rock through my main housing and I am wondering how technical things are gonna get if I was to try crack the transmission open and swap my guts (if they are still in good condition, truck was stopped immediately after hitting the rock) into a new housing I can get my hands on. Im a fairly mechanically inclined farm boy but dealing with the internals of a transmission is a little bit foreign to me yet. If I can pull the guts out fairly easily without too much disassembly of the internals and swap them in to a new case, I would rather not spring the money on a full rebuild manual, or paying $500+ I was quoted for labour to do the work in a busy oilfield town. Just looking for some opinions and maybe some tips to see if this is a job I want to tackle on my own before buying manuals. Thanks Guys!
