Exhaust brake valve springs

So I’m getting ready to install a 4K gsk. When I bought my truck it came with an banks power exhaust brake and I am wondering which valve spring they installed with that kit. Intake or exhaust?

They should have put exhaust springs in but no guarantee. I would personally replace all of them to be sure they arent all that expensive.... its a good time to replace valve stem seals too.

Ok I am going to just keep the rpm below 3200 until I order new springs. If I take one of the valve covers off shouldn’t I be be able to tell if one spring is larger than the other? Also is the front or back valve the exhaust?

If you pulled a set out, you should be able to tell the difference. Intake and exhaust are the same. Pull two out and measure the height and Ill measure one of my stock and let you know.

No need to remove them. The 60 lb springs are barrel shaped, the stockers are straight sided.

Agreed. The head I just bought has 60s on exhaust side and factory on intake (going to change to 60s). The difference in outside shape is obvious. Plus the 60s have a white stripe painted on.
