Parking brake wont gimme a break

So after deciding the other one was worn out i bought a new one, put it in, buuuut it looks like i need to tighten it but the adjuster nut on the chassis is all the way in and i cant get a wrench in to work it out and i cant get the threaded rod to move enough out to get anything on it, i know someone else must have had this problem so how they heck are you supposed to get these things tighter. its driving me up a wall and i know it shouldnt be this hard....

You're not supposed to mess with the cable adjustment.
Parking brake is adjusted by adjusting the brake shoes.
