Factory Overload/Tow package Spring Pack?

My question is did these trucks ever come with what looks like an extra spring pack between the spacer and the regular size spring pack on the rear axle? My new, to me, donner truck has this setup on the rear springs and I was wondering if it is factory or after market for future reference. There is a rubber cushion on the end of the top spring on the lower pack which leads me to believe that they are of r a camper or heavy trailer. The bed in this truck did have holes for a 5th wheel hitch.
Thanks for any input here.

Yes, factory overloads were an option. IIRC it was part of the towing package, but might have been separate.

I think overloads only came with the camper package. My 97 has the tow package and no overloads.

I wish I had saved the window sticker from mine. It came with both.

Mine came with overloads, I believe it has the camper package but not the tow package. I'd have to check.

GPCHOOCHOO Thanks for the pic. However mine is just opposite of your setup. The extra pack is on the bottom. The rubber cushions are round and about 1/4" thick and it looks like the regular, upper pack, would come down and rest on them under a heavy load.
Thanks to all for your quick input here. I will do some more research ono the difference between the camper and tow packages. The setup does look like a factory job that is why I asked the question.
Thanks again all.

24hrs It hauls the RV built on its back real nice. Would sway a lot before I put the Torklifts ( pads on the helper spring rest) and now it rides tight but makes for a stable ride. With both fuel tanks full it is over weight a little, according to the scales it is running about 2100 pounds on each of the 6 tires. But it does keep the weight from throwing you around.

You can get a lot of that info from your VIN @ mopar.com. Used to be at moparownerconnect.com and they had better information (the actual option codes and stuff), but it's still vaguely useful. Like I know mine came with the camper group but not the tow group, and I know the rear axle's been changed by a PO... I most of that stuff is on the underhood sticker too though.

My 95 came with the tow pack and the springs sound like what you describe. There were other extras also like aux trans cooler, larger output alt. and heated mirrors. I still have the window sticker somewhere, I will look later to see.
Side note: I know it has been discussed here years back, but YES the heated mirrors on my truck are a factory option on the sticker.

1995 3500; pacbrake exhaust flange, 4" exhaust; turbo booster elbow; pan-off trans kit with towing valve body and deep alum pan; alum (add fluid) rear end cover. All factory extras except leather.
