PSC SG-851 steering box

The Steering box on my truck is about due to be replaced. I came across the PSC SG-851, but I cant find many reviews of it. Lots of stuff about the steering boxes they make for jeeps though.

Does anyone here have any experience with them they would like to share?

I have that box and I would do it again. I recommend getting the PSC high flow pump as well to keep up with the bigger box especially if you are running larger tires. Just know that because the box is larger it has spacers that come with it to push it off the frame a little bit, this in turn makes it impossible to align your steering wheel center without modifying (shortening) the drag link.

Thanks! I’m running A Synergy drag link and tie rod, it has tons of adjustment.

I have the same Synergy Steering and it still doesn't have enough adjustment. I cut about 3/4" - 1" out of it, welded it back together and welded a sleeve over the outside of the weld area for extra strength.

You either have to modify the drag link or get a custom short one made. The other option is notching and welding the the frame so the box can sit flush against it like a stock style box and throw the spacers away.

The 852K3(T style) box from PSC comes with a shorter tie rod for the drag link.

That would be great if i was running the stock drag link, unfourtantly I have the Synergy tie rod and drag link on my truck, and I'm unwilling to give them up. It sounds like it has to be shortened up quite a bit to make this set up work.

I just figured I would through that bit of info out for anyone stumbling across this thread looking for info on the PSC box.

I should be buying one here soon, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I emailed Synergy, and they have no plans to offer a drag link to fit this steering gear box at this time.

I thought I would bump this.

I have had my PSC 852K3 box installed for a couple months now and I can't imagine going back to an OEM style box. Best steering improvement I have bought for this truck. I was able to pick it up for a hair over $600 shipped to my door as well.

I'm using stock style parts and it came with a shortened drag link tie rod end. So I have plenty of adjustment.
