Moved the steering column now I cannot put the key in all the way

I unbolted the steering column to install a new dashboard and now I cannot get the key to go in all the way. Almost like it thinks it's in gear and the keylock is activated.

How do I fix this? adjust the linkage?

The tumblers are damaged somehow. Time for a new ignition module and lock cylinder.

Well that stinks. Last time I had that problem I pulled the column back out again to find out I was using the wrong key.

Well I can now start the truck again. I have been messing with the old lock cylinder and still can't get a key all the way in. It actually seems to me that the gearing in the ignition module was damaged and not allowing the cylinder to return to a position that allows for key removal/insertion.

^^ and yes it stinks!!
