Guys,
Just rebuild my 6BT and cant get it to fire unless I use ether to get it to fire first. Then it will idle OK but will not rev. When I removed an injector and cranked the engine the injector did not spurt fuel. Any ideas?
The motor all ran fine before it was rebuilt.

Which 6BT? VE pump or p-pump? I'm assuming you removed the injector pump for the rebuild. It has to be timed.

Guys,
Should have said before pump is a VE pump and it has been timed. Surely though if the timing were out the injector will still spurt but at the wrong time.

Have you verified that your FSS has power? Maybe just gut it to eliminate that possibility of it being the problem.

I've seen where a couple people have gotten a couple of there high pressure fuel lines in the wrong spots.

Did you get all the air manually bled out of the fuel system before trying to start it?

do you mean fuel shut-off solenoid cos that's working fine. All lines are in correct place. It will run when started on ether. Thinking its either timing or fuel pressure too low

Did you do anything to the IP when it was off?

Have you checked to see if the small pin at the bottom of the AFC that rides on the fuel pin profile is stuck?

The stock LP puts out 3-5 psi what's yours?

Have you pulled the FSS and inspected it? If not you canít know if itís fine or not. The tip could have come off and is blocking fuel flow. You will still hear the normal click when power is applied but it wonít allow fuel to pass. And for the sake of your engine please stop using ether it is super hard on them.

What he's saying ^^^^ gut it and see if it helps any in it starting. Doesn't cost anything to do it and will eliminate that as a possible problem.

Guys,
Just thinking if the end had come off the Fuel shutoff solenoid surely the engine would not run at all. Once started on ether the engine idles quite nicely.
